<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/bad-luck-neymar-brazil-star-forced-off-during-commemorative-100th-home-appearance-santos-fresh-injury/blte6670b0e01e28e1a" target="_blank">Neymar hobbled out of Thursday's 2-0 victory over Atletico Mineiro</a>, the latest injury setback for a player who has struggled to stay fit consistently for some time. An <a href="https://www.espn.com.br/futebol/santos/artigo/_/id/15067928/santos-confirma-nova-lesao-muscular-de-neymar-que-inicia-tratamento-clube-nao-revela-prazo-para-retorno" target="_blank"><em>ESPN</em> report</a> has revealed the club believe he will be out of action for four to six weeks.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Neymar suffered an ACL injury in October 2023 while playing for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, having also suffered a series of issues with Paris Saint-Germain previously. Another hamstring injury last year <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/al-hilal-terminate-neymar-contract-seven-appearances-homecoming-transfer-santos-imminent-brazil-superstar/bltebcaa300a092d91b" target="_blank">saw his contract with the Saudi club ripped up</a>, though it is reported by <em>ESPN </em>that this new problem does not affect the same muscle.</p>

<p>The injury occurred on what was the Brazilian's 100th appearance for Santos, cutting short an evening of celebration. Neymar wore a shirt with 100 on his back rather than 10, but was subbed off after 34 minutes.</p>
