THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Guardiola could agree to take the reins with England next summer, as Lee Carsley takes charge on an interim basis until then, but the 53-year-old tactician has told Italian TV show <a href="https://x.com/chetempochefa/status/1845549240396702206 " target="_blank"><em>Che Tempo, Che Fa</em></a> when asked about the Three Lions links: “No, those rumours are not true. If I had decided something I would say so. I could do anything.”</p>

WHAT GUARDIOLA SAID

<p>Guardiola is one of several names being linked with the vacant England post, with current Newcastle boss Eddie Howe and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/thomas-tuchel-negotiations-next-england-manager-lee-carsley-dismal-greece-defeat/bltc9332ba603406b2a" target="_blank">former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel also considered to be in the frame</a>. The Three Lions will be back in UEFA Nations League action during the November international break.</p>
