Raphinha was supposed to be a long term replacement for Dembele, but has faltered this season as one of a number of underperformers for Xavi's side. And the manager is reportedly losing patience with his right-winger, according to <a href="https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/acaba-paciencia-barca-raphinha-96562167" target="_blank">Sport</a>.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Xavi's uncertainty leaves the door open for Newcastle. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/newcastle-71m-transfer-raphinha-barcelona-consider-summer-sale/bltccd8caa441670c2e" target="_blank">The Magpies were interested in Raphinha last summer</a>, but a move never materialised. If Raphinha is available at the right price, Eddie Howe's side could strike.

The Brazilian winger has repeatedly denied reports that he could leave the club, most recently rubbishing claims ahead of the summer 2023 transfer window, telling <a href="https://www.90min.com/posts/raphinha-hits-out-at-reports-of-barcelona-exit" target="_blank">90min</a>: "This is a lie and whoever said that is a liar, uninformed and unprofessional."

WHAT RAPHINHA SAID

The Balugrana still find themselves in deep financial trouble. Although President Joan Laporta's infamous "levers" have brought in some support, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/financial-trouble-barcelona-club-president-joan-laporta-lguarantee-liga-participation/blt413ffd5518a98b25" target="_blank">one of the deals has not yielded a promised payment</a>, leaving the Blaugrana in need of new injections of cash once again.
