WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Title character and writer Jason Sudeikis is back on board, with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/filming-ted-lasso-season-4-revealed-hannah-waddingham-jedi-knight-script-writers-jason-sudeikis/blt3fea5d1fe9a7bb46" target="_blank">filming set to start at some point this summer</a>. The production will be taken in a different direction as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/official-word-ted-lasso-is-coaching-womens-team-jason-sudeikis-huge-update-season-4-apple-tv-show/blt3e77087a509b2309" target="_blank">Lasso is now working as a coach in the women’s game</a>.</p>

He has also stated that Shelley will "pop up" at some stage.</p>

<p>Mohammed, who has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/announced-shortly-ted-lasso-star-teases-huge-season-4-news-fans-wait-return-nate-shelley-afc-richmond/bltede45dc1870d7776" target="_blank">teased fans with Ted Lasso updates on social media</a>, claims to have always been convinced that Sudeikis would bring the show back. He told <a href="https://collider.com/ted-lasso-season-4-new-characters-nick-mohammed-nate-future-explained/ " target="_blank"><em>Collider</em></a>: "The storylines in Season 3 would suggest that there was a real sense of finality. Ted goes back home, right?</p><p>"But there were enough things that were set up that would suggest that there was a path to it coming back. We didn’t know for absolute definite, and it was always up to Jason as to whether he wanted to do more."</p>
