The Egypt international's deal was scheduled to expire in the summer, but he is now on the verge of putting pen to paper and extending his stay on Merseyside to over a decade, having arrived from Roma in 2017.</p>

However, it appears he will instead remain at Anfield, extending a trophy-laden stay. He has already won the Premier League and the Champions League, and with the Reds nine points clear of Arsenal with a game in hand at the top of the table, he is about to become a two-time English champion.</p>

<p>While the agreement has not yet been reached, the finer details are said to be all that remains for Liverpool and Salah to iron out.
