<p>Salah put pen to paper on a new two-year contract at Anfield recently, putting an end to speculation over his future. He is now believed to be <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/revealed-mohamed-salah-staggering-new-salary-two-year-contract-extension-liverpool-man-city/bltb1acbdec09c225e2#cs6828e83de8e6cbcb" target="_blank">earning around £400,000 a week</a>, which represents a £50,000 increase on his last deal.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>However, it appears Liverpool will press ahead with plans to freshen up their frontline regardless. <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/34551681/liverpool-transfer-bryan-mbeumo-salah/" target="_blank"><em>The Sun</em></a> report that the Reds have been impressed by the performances of Mbeumo, who like Salah is a left-footed forward who primarily plays from the right. Arne Slot could be allowed to spend £200m this summer as he looks to build a dynasty on Merseyside, and it's estimated Cameroon international Mbeumo would cost in the region of £50m.</p>
