He has revealed that stitches were required in order to patch him up, but the 25-year-old was able to force a smile in a social media post that included the caption: “I’m all good, just a scratch. WHAT MOUNT SAID

<p>Mount has endured an injury-ravaged spell at United on the back of his £60 million ($80m) transfer from Chelsea in the summer of 2023 – with calf and hamstring problems holding him back. He appears to have avoided any lasting damage this time around and will hope to convince manager Erik ten Hag that he is the man to provide cover for Fernandes during the Portuguese’s upcoming suspension.</p>
