Mason Greenwood picks new favourite transfer destination as Man Utd attacker's plans to join Barcelona are derailed

<p>According to <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/28234097/mason-greenwood-man-utd-transfer-juventus/" target="_blank"><em>The Sun</em></a>, the Manchester United loanee was eyeing a move to the Catalan club as he looked to stay in Spain. Greenwood spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Getafe but will now have to look elsewhere for a move this summer, after Xavi's exit left his <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/mason-greenwood-barcelona-man-utd-loanee-getafe-spell/blt0305a446cd1082df" target="_blank">Barcelona</a> plans in tatters. Greenwood is now likely to pursue a move to Italy this summer, with Serie A side <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/what-mason-greenwood-worth-juventus-believe-bargain-deal-man-utd-winger-transfer/blt999009493f7c56a9" target="_blank">Juventus</a> currently favourites to secure his signature.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Greenwood is expected to part ways with United this summer, whether it is on another temporary loan deal or a permanent transfer. Several clubs including Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Saudi Pro League sides have been credited with an interest in the former England international.</p>

<p>Following his campaign in Spain with Getafe, Greenwood issued the following statement on his Instagram account: "Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season, thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club.</p><p>"A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best."</p>

WHAT GREENWOOD SAID

<p>Greenwood is not set to be involved with England at Euro 2024 and will now decide what the next move in his career will be in the coming weeks. He is currently contracted at United until 2025, meaning this is the last summer the club could cash in on the player.</p>
