<p>The 23-year-old forward <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-extremely-disappointed-miss-out-100m-mason-greenwood-barcelona-cheap-deal-marseille-forward/bltb0a981377b404c12" target="_blank">completed a £27 million ($34m) transfer to Stade Velodrome</a> during the summer of 2024, as he severed ties with Premier League side Manchester United. His last appearance for the Red Devils had come in January 2022.</p>

<p>That is because Greenwood was arrested that month before being released on bail. All <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-mason-greenwood-cleared-all-charges-attempted-rape-assault-case/blt667fec4a13dfc50d" target="_blank">charges in a case relating to allegations of attempted rape, assault and coercive and controlling behaviour were dropped</a> in February 2023.</p>
