<p>The German goalkeeper's place at Barcelona has come into question following the arrival of Joan Garcia, with reports saying the club are eager to sell Ter Stegen this summer. He is said to be furious about losing his status as first choice and is fighting to stay despite their desire sell him. After claims that he <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/marc-andre-ter-stegen-join-barcelona-reject-paul-pogba-monaco-talks-summer-transfer/bltb6594ddb4b60f4cc" target="_blank">had been in contact with French giants Monaco</a>, a new report from Spain now appears to reveal the conditions under which the former Borussia Monchengladbach player would leave Catalunya.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>According to <a href="https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/ter-stegen-desafia-barca-o-119148620" target="_blank"><em>Sport</em></a>, Ter Stegen remains hesitant to leave the club at this point in time. He is said to be very upset about how things have developed with regard to his situation in Barcelona and is reported to have rejected the offer from Monaco. Nevertheless, the report states that he would consider a move if he were to receive his full salary for the final three years of his contract, which runs until 2028.</p><p>Ter Stegen is said to feel betrayed because <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/hansi-flick-marc-andre-ter-stegen-joan-garcia-germany-barcelona/blt44ebe27958536a18" target="_blank">he was never informed of the plans that Barca had apparently held for some time</a> regarding the goalkeeper position.</p>

<p>Just days ago, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/joan-garcia-transfer-saga-barcelona-schedule-announcement-marc-andre-ter-stegen-galatasaray-talks/blt379acfb8a7f2dfed" target="_blank">the Catalans confirmed the signing of preferred candidate Garcia</a> from city rivals Espanyol. The 24-year-old is set to become the new first-choice goalkeeper. As a consequence, Barcelona would like to offload the 33-year-old German, who is one of the club's top earners.</p><p>Sporting director Deco told <em>La Vanguardia</em> recently that Ter Stegen's time at the Blaugrana was coming to an end. </p><p>"I don't need to talk to him. My duty is to build the best possible team for the manager," said Deco.</p>
