<p>Musiala was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jamal-musiala-suffers-horror-injury-bayern-star-appears-break-ankle-collision-gianluigi-donnarumma-psg-goalkeeper-visibly-shaken/blt009d30f911baafab" target="_blank">stretchered off</a> in the first half of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/harry-kane-error-costs-bayern-desire-doue-ousmane-dembele-nine-man-psg-club-world-cup-semi-finals-jamal-musiala-sickening-injury/blt82f39e4a070ba00e" target="_blank">Bayern's 2-0 Club World Cup quarter-final loss</a> to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday following a coming together with Donnarumma. After the defeat, Bayern stopper Neuer criticised the Italian's actions, both in terms of the challenge and his reaction to the incident.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>He told reporters: "A situation where you don't have to go in like that! That's reckless. He accepts the risk of injuring his opponent.
</p><p>"I went to him and said, 'Don't you want to go to our player?' It's a matter of respect to go over and wish the guy all the best. He did it afterward. (...) Fairness is always important. I would have reacted differently."</p>

WHAT NEUER SAID

<p>Neuer's remarks echoed ones made by Bayern boss Vincent Kompany, who said his "<a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/vincent-kompany-furious-bayern-munich-star-jamal-musiala-horror-injury-club-world-cup/blte9ff0e3a6f449461" target="_blank">blood was boiling</a>" over the Musiala injury, and sporting director Max Eberl said Donnarumma <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/furious-bayern-chief-blasts-gianluigi-donnarumma-jamal-musiala-stretchered-off-serious-looking-injury-club-world-cup/bltb5abfa67c106d49c#cs056ff8b6e60e5692" target="_blank">wasn't being "considerate"</a> with his actions. The 22-year-old is arguably Bayern's best player, and if he is out for a long time, that is a massive blow for the German giants.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>It remains to be seen how long German international Musiala, who was taken to a nearby hospital in Atlanta on Saturday, will be out for. But going by his reaction to the challenge, it seems this could be a serious injury.</p>
