WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The opening 10 games of the 1986-87 season in which United earned only eight points was overseen by Ron Atkinson who was then replaced by Sir Alex Ferguson.</p>

<p>Amorim's task is clear and he has serious work to do to undo a decade of disappointment at Old Trafford. His work will begin on 11 November.</p>
