<p>Parkinson recently reached the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ryan-reynolds-congrats-phil-parkinson-landmark-achievement-wrexham-boss-exclusive-coaching-club/blt715acff62e328e61#csd76bedfb261b5a39" target="_blank">extraordinary feat of 1,000 games</a> as a professional manager, earning recognition from across the footballing world. Sir Alex made an appearance at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground on Saturday, not in support of the Hollywood-owned team but to cheer for Peterborough United, managed by his son Darren Ferguson. The legendary manager's presence also brought back memories, as he was once a regular spectator at Wrexham games when Darren played for the club from 1999 to 2007.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>The match itself proved dramatic, with Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough United nearly spoiling Parkinson’s celebratory occasion. Despite the goalless draw persisting through most of the game, Steven Fletcher’s late header in the 87th minute <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/steven-fletcher-wrexham-super-sub-strikes-late-narrow-win-pressure-birmingham-wycombe-league-one-promotion-push/blt9fa50d7476aa200e" target="_blank">ensured a 1-0 victory for Wrexham. </a></p>
