<p>The Old Trafford club have been heavily linked with the Brentford star, but are preparing to lose out to Spurs. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-opening-bid-bryan-mbeumo-short-brentford-valuation/blt4f0b682296ae7c3a" target="_blank">United lodged a £55 million offer</a> to the west London club, but have been outmanoeuvred by <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/tottenham-manchester-united-bryan-mbeumo-spurs-brentford/blta03313415fb9f073" target="_self">Tottenham's reported bid of £70m</a>. ESPN are now reporting United have earmarked Bournemouth's Semenyo and Palace's Eze as potential Plan Bs.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/tottenham-eberechi-eze-spurs-crystal-palace-hero-money-saved-to-complete-mathys-tel-transfer/blt16ed30e347f6881a" target="_blank">Both players have been linked with a move</a> to north London themselves, but it is believed <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/tottenham-hold-talks-brentford-bryan-mbeumo-thomas-frank-appointment-man-utd/blta429f41edce1ae3a" target="_self">Thomas Frank wants to reunite with the impressive Mbeumo</a>. Semenyo and Eze impressed in the 2024/25 season, respectively logging 16 goal contributions in the Premier League. </p>

<p>Mbeumo remains the prized asset however. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/revealed-premier-league-most-clinical-finishers-man-utd-target-tops-list-division-most-lethal-goalscorer/bltf5d691b9a43bdaea" target="_self">A recent analysis of xG performance</a> revealed Mbeumo was the most efficient goalscorer in last season's Premier League. The Cameroonian bagged 20 goals, on just 12.3 xG. </p>
