According to <a href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1814036386552451367" target="_blank">Fabrizio Romano</a>, the Uruguayan midfielder, who shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes, as Yoro, is eager to join the Red Devils despite the club's inability to offer Champions League football. However, the deal is far from being closed as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-submit-shock-transfer-bid-psg-star-problem-position-sir-jim-ratcliffe-kick-starts-summer-revolution/blt7770b7e31f852dd2" target="_blank">United and PSG have not yet reached a consensus</a> on the transfer fee.

The midfielder, who joined the Ligue 1 champions from <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/manuel-ugarte-psg-chelsea-spend-60m-sporting-midfielder/blt2b073f749d59991a" target="_blank">Sporting CP for £42 million ($54m)</a> just last summer, fits the club's strategy of building a younger team without high-profile superstars and they are not keen to sell him at a discounted rate.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

United's pursuit of Ugarte faces stiff competition from other top European clubs. Bayern Munich have shown interest and inquiries have been made by two Italian sides as well as by another Premier League club. This heightened interest from multiple clubs strengthens PSG's stance on their valuation which further complicate United's efforts to secure the midfielder's services.
