<p>Manchester United's PSR restraints may be preventing them from making too many moves in the January transfer market, but the Red Devils are planning ahead for the summer by plotting a move for Sporting star Geovany Quenda, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6102523/2025/01/31/manchester-united-transfers-geovany-quenda/" target="_blank"><em>The Athletic</em></a>. The 17-year-old would cost around €40 million (£33.4m/$41.5m) in a deal that would pair him back up with head coach Ruben Amorim.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Quenda can play on either the left or right flank but has been operating more on the right-hand side for Sporting this season. His profile perfectly suits Amorim's style of play and the Portugal youth international would slot in as either a winger or wing-back. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Quenda has made 34 appearances for Sporting this term, scoring two goals and adding six assists. Last season under Amorim, he featured 33 times across all competitions, netting 11 times and adding a further nine assists.</p>
