<p>After reports of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-ramp-up-interest-hugo-ekitike-talks-intensify-viktor-gyokeres-turns-down-chance-reunite-ruben-amorim-old-trafford/blt851cafa47ddc61e4" target="_blank">United ramping up their interest in Ekitike</a>, the Premier League side have now officially opened talks with the Eintracht Frankfurt forward's entourage and have expressed "concrete interest" in signing the player, according to <em>Sky</em><em> Germany</em> journalist <a href="https://x.com/Plettigoal/status/1934305829919887744" target="_blank">Florian Plettenberg</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>German publication <a href="https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/poker-um-ekitike-1-top-klub-meldete-sich-bei-eintracht-frankfurt-684e82d3c500125714a3c9de" target="_blank"><em>BILD</em></a><em> </em>further reported on the interest, revealing that United are so far the only club to have held talks with Frankfurt regarding a potential move for Ekitike, despite suggestions that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/liverpool-in-talks-sign-eur100-million-hugo-ekitike-ahead-of-chelsea-arne-slot-keen-admirer-eintracht-frankfurt-striker/blt68652c33eef18e89" target="_blank">Liverpool have also been in touch with the Bundesliga side</a>. What could work in United's favour is the relationship shared between Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche and United's head of recruitment Christopher Vivell, who are believed to be friends.</p>
