Now, a report from Italy suggests that United might have finally found the answer to their question.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p><em>Corriere della Serra </em>(h/t <a href="https://sportwitness.co.uk/manchester-united-want-e40m-marco-carnesecchi-atalanta-media-go-big-on-claim/" target="_blank">Sport Witness</a>)<em> </em>claim that Man Utd have set their sights on Atalanta shot-stopper Carnesecchi, who is highly regarded and "coveted" by the club. The 24-year-old became the first-choice goalkeeper in Bergamo in the 2023-24 season and showed significant improvement in the past year, receiving call-ups to the Italian national team. With a contract until 2028, La Dea will remain patient but will consider a bid north of €40 million (£33.5m/$45m) to part ways with the Italian custodian.  </p>
