Man Utd and Arsenal snubbed! Outgoing Lille star Angel Gomes to join French rival despite Premier League transfer links

<p><a href="https://x.com/FabriceHawkins/status/1930923045964648860" target="_blank">Journalist Fabrice Hawkins</a> states the midfielder will join Marseille on a three-year deal, with the 25-year-old about to become a free agent. He adds that Tottenham and West Ham also tracked the England international but Gomes 'prefers' Roberto De Zerbi's side. </p>

<p>Gomes was previously linked with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/blow-man-utd-arsenal-mason-greenwood-marseille-make-transfer-move-england-star-angel-gomes/blt2d3637a06eac0fa0#cs81f143701ee41fdd" target="_blank">United and Arsenal</a> and even spoke about <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/angel-gomes-refuses-to-rule-out-future-return-to-man-utd-after-starring-for-lille/bltf4ce41697ed5e9e8" target="_blank">potentially returning to Old Trafford</a>, after going through the club's youth system. But Marseille's qualification to next season's Champions League and how they have fared under De Zerbi appears to have convinced the former Boavista loanee.</p>

<p>To signal his Lille exit, where he has spent the last four seasons of his career, he wrote on Instagram last month: "After four unforgettable years at LOSC Lille, it’s time for me to say goodbye. This club has been more than just a team — it’s been a family, a home, and a place that has shaped me both on and off the pitch. Like any journey, there were ups and downs, highs and lows, but I’m truly grateful to my team-mates and the fans for sticking with me throughout.
