<p>Head coach Ruben Amorim wants to keep experienced heads at the club and is set to strike a new deal with goalkeeper Tom Heaton to continue in the goalkeeping department, report <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/35344245/man-utd-tom-heaton-new-deal/" target="_blank"><em>The Sun</em></a>. Heaton is currently 39 and would turn 40 during his additional year.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Heaton has not played a single Premier League minute for United since rejoining the club in 2021 but appears to be a valued member of the squad, providing support for the other goalkeepers. There have also been discussions about a coaching role down the line but this is purely a playing contract.</p>
