The Hammers are keen to bolster their defence this summer and are pushing ahead in negotiations with Manchester United to get a deal over the line, according to <a href="https://talksport.com/football/1971046/man-utd-advanced-talks-west-ham-aaron-wan-bissaka-transfers/" target="_blank">talkSPORT</a>.<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/mason-greenwood-jadon-sancho-summer-exodus-man-utd-jim-ratcliffe-red-devils-squad/blt3dc0ee149ccbb6f1" target="_blank"> Wan-Bissaka could move </a>to East London for as little as £15 million (€17.8m/ $19.5m), meaning the Red Devils would take a massive loss on the original £50m (€59.5m/$65.1m) they paid for the former Crystal Palace man in 2019.

WHAT HAPPENED?

While they are almost guaranteed to take a loss on Wan-Bissaka, it is a deal that would suit both parties. West Ham are getting a quality player to provide competition or even replace Vladimir Coufal, while Manchester United <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-close-in-leny-yoro-lille-medical-to-beat-real-madrid-gbp52m-transfer/bltf4f402f16b89613c" target="_blank">can free up some room for the incoming Leny Yoro</a>, who is completing his medical ahead of a move from Lille.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Wan-Bissaka was a regular starter at Old Trafford when he was not injured last season. However, with just one year left on his contract, he looks set to end his five-year stay in Manchester. The England international was part of the squad that won the FA Cup against rivals Manchester City a few months ago but that will likely be his last outing in a red shirt.

A deal has not yet been finalised and there is no word on whether Wan-Bissaka would be up for returning to the capital. As it stands, he is set to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-pre-season-2024-tour-fixtures-results-tickets-watch/blt40910657efdd28df#cse0d39b829c3f4ba0" target="_blank">embark on the club's pre-season tour to the US</a>, but things could change if an official bid is submitted by the Hammers soon.
