While Cruz Azul had shown strong interest and held advanced talks, the club’s inability to clear a foreign-player spot on the roster became a major obstacle.</p><p></p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>With negotiations stalled, Jovic is now expected to sign with newly promoted La Liga side Real Oviedo in the coming hours. A move to Spain is currently seen as his most likely path to stay in top-tier European football.</p><p>Back in Mexico, Cruz Azul will continue exploring options to strengthen its attack. The club is still trying to offload one of its foreign players (Gabriel Fernández or Giorgos Giakoumakis) to create room for a new signing.</p>
