<p>Former favourite Vladimir Smicer insists it is great news that the pair, who "look 28", <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/best-in-the-world-liverpool-fans-celebrate-virgil-van-dijk-signs-new-deal/blt6283c604f3fbfe58" target="_blank">will remain at Anfield for two more years</a>, but has also stressed the need for the Reds to look to the future. </p>

<p>Smicer told <a href="https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/salah-e-van-dijk-ancora-col-liverpool-smicer-sembrano-28enni-che-lavoro-slot-2092603" target="_blank">Tuttomercatoweb</a>: "They are not very young but they show their consistency. Every time they play you can see that the team benefits from their presence on the pitch. And they are really consistent. The important thing is that they are physically intact.
