Liverpool look set for sweeping changes in the summer following Klopp's departure from the club. The German has already announced he will call time on his <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jurgen-klopp-leaving-liverpool-reds-boss-bombshell-announcement-quitting-role-shock-video/bltba3be51866395e61" target="_blank">Anfield career after almost a decade in charge</a>. Klopp will be followed out of Anfield by head of recovery and performance Andreas Schlumberger, according to <a href="https://theathletic.com/5402018/2024/04/09/liverpool-head-performance-depart/" target="_blank">The Athletic</a>. Schlumberger has been at Liverpool since 2020 but has reached an agreement to end his contract early and will return to Germany.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Schlumberger arrived at Liverpool in December 2020 in a newly-created role that saw him work with players as they recovered from injury. He is not the only member of staff set to leave in the summer. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/pep-lijnders-liverpool-assistant-reveals-future-holds-will-depart-anfield-with-jurgen-klopp/blt5a39aa0e2f2f5220" target="_blank">Coaches Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz and Vitor Matos</a> will also move on when Klopp leaves.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim has emerged as the favourite to replace Klopp. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ruben-amorim-liverpool-sporting-boss-agreement-principle-replace-jurgen-klopp-new-era-anfield/blt0d1e08836d414c24" target="_blank">The Reds have reportedly reached an agreement in principle</a> with the 39-year-old to take charge on a three-year contract.
