Arsenal currently sit one point clear of their next opponents at the summit of the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/premier-league/2kwbbcootiqqgmrzs6o5inle5" target="_blank">Premier League</a> table, but former Liverpool defender Carragher believes a player swap would transform the title race.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Carragher said in his<a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/12/22/liverpool-arsenal-anfield-fixture-title-race/" target="_blank"> Telegraph</a> column: "If Arsenal had Alisson Becker they would be almost guaranteed a minimum of nine extra points, which would win them the title. WHAT CARRAGHER SAID

Arsenal's main weakness this season has been in goal, with neither David Raya nor Aaron Ramsdale convincing between the posts. Liverpool are much improved from last season, but there's no doubt that a midfielder of Rice's calibre would take them to the next level.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Saturday's clash won't decide the title race, but the victor will likely receive an important psychological boost. If the spoils are shared, then Manchester City could take the chance to close the gap on both.
