<p>Liverpool are interested in signing defender Hato and have held talks with Ajax over a potential deal this summer. Duncan Castles told <a href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/6Tbrofb1qFpNRY1fW0xcIZ" target="_blank"><em>The Transfers Podcast</em></a><a href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/6Tbrofb1qFpNRY1fW0xcIZ" target="_blank"></a> that the Dutch giants are open to selling the teenager, who has already been capped six times by the Netherlands.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Hato has become a mainstay in the Ajax team since making his senior debut in January 2023, wracking up 124 appearances while still a teenager. He scored twice and contributed six assists in 31 Eredivisie matches last season and has been playing at centre-back during the Netherlands Under-21s' European Championship campaign.</p>

<p>Hato's arrival would help Liverpool fill the void set to be left by Jarell Quansah.
