<p>Alexander-Arnold has been absent since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/trent-alexander-arnold-last-game-liverpool-worrying-injury-psg-loss-real-madrid-move/blt73dece67c62bbd79" target="_blank">sustaining an ankle injury</a> in Liverpool's Champions League round-of-16 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in March. Reds manager Arne Slot had earlier claimed that he expects the full-back to return to the pitch before the end of the 2024-25 campaign. On Wednesday, the England international re-joined the club's session ahead of their Premier League clash against Leicester City on Sunday.</p>

<p>While Alexander-Arnold is slowly recovering from his injury, uncertainty looms over the player's future at Anfield beyond the current season as he has reportedly <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/trent-alexander-arnold-real-madrid-confirmed-liverpool-star-reaches-agreement-in-principle-la-liga-giants-long-term-contract/blt108fcf31f0246072" target="_blank">agreed to join Real Madrid</a> in the summer. The 26-year-old's contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 campaign and he is unlikely to extend his stay at his boyhood club.</p>
