<p><a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/liverpool-forward-diogo-jota-dies-car-accident-spain/blta99cf525214d3de6#csbd9548b8a266029e" target="_blank">Jota was killed along with his brother Andre Silva</a> in a car accident in Zamora, north-western Spain, shortly after midnight on Thursday. Spain's Civil Guard told the <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c5y7p6pw5gyt" target="_blank">BBC</a> the brothers were travelling in a Lamborghini, which left the road and caught fire due to a tyre blowout while overtaking. Witnesses, who called Spain's emergency services, told the media they saw the car burst into flames.</p>

<p>As the tragic news came out, Liverpool fans turned up at Anfield and left flowers and messages of tribute for their beloved star. One of the messages from a fan read: "Ooooh he wears the number 20! RIP Diogo YNWA!
