This sets up a potential transfer battle between Milan and Napoli, as <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/napoli-want-two-liverpool-stars-antonio-conte-side-double-bid-darwin-nunez-reds-team-mate-kevin-de-bruyne-deal/bltf1a41845a592ad19" target="_blank">Antonio Conte is rumoured to be a fan of the player</a>, and is adamant that he should make the switch to Naples.</p>

The striker's reported salary of €4.7m per year would be expensive for the two Italian clubs, but is far from prohibitive.</p>

<p>Nunez has flashed moments of brilliance during his three years on Merseyside, but he's lacked the requisite consistency to merit the astronomical £85m fee Liverpool paid Benfica for his services. The Uruguayan has scored 40 goals in 143 games for the Reds. </p>
