Ahead of facing Ipswich Town in his first game in charge, Slot spoke about what brought him to the Reds and that he slightly differs in his approach from Klopp.

WHAT HAPPENED?

When asked how it's been working with the squad, he told TNT Sports: "Very positive. Jurgen [Klopp] and Pep [Lijnders] left the team in a really good place, full of energy, the boys always want to work hard. I do think our results were a bit better than the way we played. But very positive about where we have worked until now and all the boys came back two weeks ago, it's good to see they came back really strong."On the differences between his style and Klopp's he added: "I don't think that much because one of the reasons why I wanted to join this club was that it was also clear for the ones who hired me about the style I wanted to play. They wanted to have a similar style to what Jurgen did because they were so successful. I think all the teams around the world, and in the Premier League, are successful in a certain playing style and this is what we are trying to do. Of course, there are always going to be one or two differences because we are not the same people. But I am hoping and expecting that many things will be the same."

WHAT ARNE SLOT SAID

Slot has huge shoes to fill and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/liverpool-contract-dilemma-virgil-van-dijk-trent-alexander-arnold-mohamed-salah/blt7f5df7e71d645d56" target="_blank">while they are yet to make any first-team signings</a>, the ex-Feyenoord boss will want to hit the ground running.
