Lazio set deadline to complete Mason Greenwood transfer after raising offer for Man Utd outcast

Greenwood enjoyed a sterling season at Getafe but there is no way back for the striker at United. As a result, a price tag of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/lazio-increase-transfer-offer-man-utd-outcast-mason-greenwood-serie-a-giants-short-50m-valuation-battle-marseille/bltae165802f9e49cdc#cs1c4a8e321c60ae30" target="_blank">€50m (£42m/$35m) has been placed on the striker's head</a>, a price which Lazio are yet to reach.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Serie A club have thus far made a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/lazio-increase-transfer-offer-man-utd-outcast-mason-greenwood-serie-a-giants-short-50m-valuation-battle-marseille/bltae165802f9e49cdc#cs1c4a8e321c60ae30" target="_blank">bid worth around €25m (£21m/$27m)</a> and will need to increase that offer. They have set a deadline of July 8 to seal a deal, an objective they feel is achievable, per <a href="https://www.calciomercato.com/news/lazio-fiducia-in-aumento-per-il-colpo-greenwood-tutti-i-dettagli-48066" target="_blank">Calciomercato</a>.

Greenwood scored 10 goals and registered six assists last season. Along with Lazio, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/mason-greenwood-future-fresh-twist-man-utd-forward-positive-talks-marseille-roberto-de-zerbi/blt7399d71a8857ffd8" target="_blank">Marseille are also said to hold an interest in securing the star's signature</a>.
