<p>Son, 33, would instantly be one of the elite forwards in MLS, alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Evander. Los Angeles is an ideal destination for the winger, as the city has a thriving Korean population, and the report added that a key factor in his decision-making was that he would be in the United States ahead of the the FIFA World Cup.</p><p>Son could play a pivotal role for South Korea in the competition, if they qualify. He joined Spurs in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen and became a club legend across his 10-year span. He scored 173 goals in 454 games for Tottenham, and this past season, helped them lift the UEFA Europa League title under then-manager Ange Postecoglou.</p><p>At LAFC, Son would join a club with silverware ambitions in 2025. In 2024, they were regular-season Western Conference champions, and in 2022, they won their first MLS Cup.
