<p>England international Walker spent eight years with Spurs after joining them from Sheffield United in 2009. He formed part of squads in north London that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/when-was-the-last-time-tottenham-won-a-trophy/1xpmj8i7ctn7h1aitrxrxn04gq" target="_blank">finished second in the Premier League and reached the League Cup final</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>He was unable to help Tottenham break a barren run on the silverware front that stretched back to 2008. They <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/harry-kane-dele-alli-react-tottenham-breaking-trophy-curse-europa-league-winning-heroes-succeeding-record-goalscorer-fan-favourite-failed/blt602e95ae81481c71" target="_blank">finally got over that line in 2025 when seeing off domestic rivals Manchester United in the Europa League final</a>.</p>

<p>Speaking on his <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/brand/p0b7h36c " target="_blank"><em>Kyle Walker Podcast</em></a>, the veteran full-back said of that contest: "That’s the first time in a long time I was nervous, and I wasn’t even playing!" Walker would have loved to form part of the celebrations that followed.</p>

WHAT KYLE WALKER SAID

<p>He would even go as far as giving up a medal earned at the Etihad Stadium. Walker said: "I'd probably give up one Premier League, not the first, to have won that with Tottenham." He added: "I know what it means. I'd probably give my second. It’s hard to give one away, but for what that moment meant. To be in that Spurs squad that won a trophy…"</p>
