WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Reports suggest that the reason the transfer dragged on&nbsp;is because of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/kevin-de-bruyne-napoli-belgian-international-medical-man-city-departure/blteb3e6872b266f506#cs9220f81dc1bab156" target="_blank">De Bruyne's house hunt</a>, with the Belgian international's lawyer forced to fly to Naples and smooth over the complication. With that issue seemingly solved, the former City star has been confirmed as the newest player to don Napoli's famous sky blue strip, and he's joining at a great time, with Antonio Conte's side fresh from winning a historic Scudetto just two seasons after claiming their first title in over 30 years.</p><p></p>

<p>De Bruyne is the latest of several former Premier League stars to have recently bought into the Napoli project. As well as beloved <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/scott-mctominay-serie-a-mvp-napoli-voted-league-best-player-antonio-conte-serie-a-glory/blt06e488afe2e51464" target="_blank">Serie A MVP Scott McTominay</a> — who has been a revelation since leaving United last summer — Conte's squad has a distinct Premier League edge to it, with other players including Romelu Lukaku, Phillip Billing, and Billy Gilmour.</p>
