<p>After Nathan Ake's effort from long range hit the post, Alvarez pounced on the rebound and knocked it into the empty net with his chest inside the first minute of the final in Saudi Arabia. <p>Alvarez's goal was similar to Messi's effort in the 2009 Club World Cup final. In that match, the Argentine sensation chested the ball into the net in extra time against Estudiantes to secure the win for a Barcelona team coached by Pep Guardiola.</p>

<p>Alvarez scored just 40 seconds into the game, making it the fastest goal in a Club World Cup final.
