The decision comes amid growing speculation about Rashford's future at Old Trafford. Manchester United are <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/revealed-man-utd-open-marcus-rashford-sale-january-ruben-amorim-major-transfer-market-boost/blt3595e3a617a3e360" target="_blank">said to be open to selling the forward in January</a>, and supporters have been celebrating the decision to drop Rashford for the crunch game on social media.

Amorim has spoken about his decision to leave Rashford out and made it clear it was a technical decision and not due to any injury problems. "I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put your clothes to go to a game. Everything," he told Sky Sports ahead of kick-off. Rashford appears to have paid the price for a poor showing last time out against Viktoria Plzen,&nbsp;when he was substituted early in the second half. It's been a difficult season for Rashford once again, with the forward having managed just seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils.

Rashford's absence from the game is likely to fuel speculation that he could be on his way out of the club.
