<p>Cavallo became the first openly-gay male footballer when he came out in 2021, inspiring others to follow suit; Blackpool player Jake Daniels credited Cavallo's openness for leading to his own coming out. And Cavallo has now announced that he is engaged to his partner, Leighton Morrell, having proposed on the pitch at Coopers Stadium, where his club Adelaide United play their home games.</p>
