<p>After Fenerbahce boss Mourinho said the Galatasaray bench were "jumping like monkeys" and that their <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jose-mourinho-savaged-by-galatasaray-boss-after-derby-draw-fenerbahce/blt0d26fac60fd1f776" target="_blank">goalless draw on Monday</a> was better for being refereed by Slovenian Slavko Vincic rather than Turkish officials, The Lions accused the Portuguese of racism and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/galatasaray-initiate-criminal-proceedings-jose-mourinho-fenerbahce/blt3ba1c65a2d7f706c#csec5ea05d8fa51db6" target="_blank">sought legal action against him</a>. Soon after being <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jose-mourinho-banned-fenerbahce-boss-suspension-comments-galatasaray/blt56d0fd5a688e29f0" target="_blank">banned for four games</a> and fined £35,000, Fenerbahce say Mourinho is suing Galatasaray for just under £42,000 for "non-pecuniary losses" (not consisting of money).</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>A statement from Fenerbahce read: "We would like to announce to the public that a lawsuit for non-pecuniary damages of 1 million 907 thousand Turkish Liras (£41,500) has been filed against Galatasaray Sports Club by Jose Mourinho through Fenerbahçe Sports Club lawyers due to the attack on the personal rights of our Technical Director Jose Mourinho."</p>

WHAT FENERBAHCE SAID

<p>On Tuesday, Fenerbahce said Mourinho's comments were <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/pathetic-slander-fenerbahce-statement-threatening-legal-action-galatasaray-malicious-approach-accusing-jose-mourinho-racist-comments/blt21489a1fad3208b6" target="_blank">"taken completely out of context and deliberately distorted"</a>, and could "in no way be associated with racism", while his former player Didier Drogba <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/how-can-dad-be-racist-didier-drogba-jumps-jose-mourinho-defence-response-former-club-galatasaray-threatening-criminal-proceedings-against-fenerbahce-boss/blt19263c9983cc61c0" target="_blank">defended him.</a> Meanwhile, Galatasaray insist the ex-Chelsea boss has "persistently issued derogatory statements directed towards the Turkish people". </p>
