<p>After the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jose-mourinho-savaged-by-galatasaray-boss-after-derby-draw-fenerbahce/blt0d26fac60fd1f776" target="_blank">fierce derby clash in Istanbul on Sunday</a>, Mourinho criticised the Galatasaray bench for "jumping like monkeys" after an early challenge. The Portuguese coach also claimed the match would have been a "disaster" had a Turkish referee been selected to oversee the contest instead of Slovenian official Slavko Vincic. Galatasaray later responded with a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/galatasaray-initiate-criminal-proceedings-jose-mourinho-fenerbahce/blt3ba1c65a2d7f706c#csec5ea05d8fa51db6" target="_blank">strong statement accusing the Fenerbahce boss of racism</a> and threatening legal action.</p>

<p>Per <a href="https://tg24.sky.it/sport/2025/02/27/mourinho-squalifica-galatasaray-fenerbahce" target="_blank"><em>Sky Sports</em></a>, The Turkish Football Federation has decided to punish Mourinho with a hefty ban as the ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid boss will serve a two-game ban for racist comments and a further two-match suspension for offensive comments made about the fourth official.</p>
