<p>Salah's future at Liverpool has been put under a major question mark as the Egyptian's contract is set to run out in the summer of 2025. The Liverpool star announced to the media last week that Liverpool simply <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/more-out-than-in-mohamed-salah-makes-huge-admission-liverpool-future-disappointed-reds-talisman-claims-yet-receive-offer-new-contract/blt7b7a8cab9bbdbc7f" target="_blank">hadn't made a contract offer</a> to him so far, and this was met with criticism from Carragher, who claimed that the public announcement was not the right way to go about the contract ordeal and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/jamie-carragher-blasts-selfish-mohamed-salah-for-contract-complaints-as-liverpool-legend-suggests-forward-is-undermining-premier-league-title-hopes/blt0c0b20fe3f43f966" target="_blank">called him "selfish"</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Salah proved exactly why he has been Liverpool's best player over the last few years as he provided an assist and scored a goal against defending Premier League champions, Manchester City, to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/liverpool-man-city-player-ratings-cody-gakpo-virgil-van-dijk-mohamed-salah/bltec21081814ac69ed" target="_blank">all but throw them out of the title race</a>. After the game, Salah was awarded the Man of the Match award by teammate Virgil van Dijk, who joked that he was surprised that 'Carra' didn't give it to him, to which Salah responded: "He wouldn't give it to me!" </p><p>However, the former Liverpool centre-back had a joke of his own to fire back at the duo on X.</p>
