Musiala changed that with a moment of magic, pinging a shot in off the post from a tight angle. Hoffenheim weren't without threat, though, forcing Manuel Neuer into a duo of decisive stops midway through the second half. But Bayern turned it on as the half wore on. Musiala grabbed a delightful second, before Kane bagged an emphatic third to earn a convincing three points.

The attacking midfielder floated between the lines, and offered valuable craft throughout. He received a standing ovation after being taken off in the second half — something he richly deserved.

What was Grischa Pomel doing?! Hoffenheim were still very much in the game after 70 minutes, the visitors creating the odd chance and threatening on the break — despite being down 2-0. But the experienced midfielder ruined their chances of a comeback with one foolish moment, catching Mathys Tel with a beyond-silly challenge to pick up his second booking — and effectively kill the game.
