<p>Shaw's goal in the 20th minute of their clash against Washington Spirit gave Casey Stoney's side the lead in a game that ended 1-1 at Audi Field thanks to Croix Bethune's 96th-minute equaliser. WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Shaw has already become a regular with the USWNT as she has scored seven goals in 14 appearances. She is likely to be named in the Olympics squad by Emma Hayes as she looks forward to her first official tournament with the USWNT.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Shaw joined San Diego Wave in the summer of 2022 and has already made 34 appearances for the side. In August 2023, the 19-year-old signed a multi-year contract with Wave through to the 2026 season.</p>
