Miguel Layún, former América player, responded to the <a href="https://latinus.us/deportes/futbol-mexicano/2025/3/17/pollo-briseno-america-proteccion-televisa-137558.html" target="_blank">criticism made by former Chivas player Antonio Briseño</a> towards Las Águilas. The current Toluca defender insisted that América is a team that is very protected.Layún refuted Briseño, saying "América is the team with the most pressure in the country, from the fans, the media, etc. Here, those who are not mentally prepared crack, those who are, become stars."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Briseño had said that the pressure is bigger at Chivas than at América, something Layún refuted. Layún added that to be successful with the Águilas, a player must be well-prepared mentally.He won three titles during his two stints with the team.
