There are occasions in which Jamal Musiala can appear unplayable, and this was one of those games. Struggling Bochum never got to grips with the talented playmaker as he wandered across the field and found pockets of space in which to pop up and influence proceedings. He does not score too many goals with his head, but glanced home in impressive style when darting towards the front post and meeting Kimmich’s cross. His dancing feet had defenders chasing shadows at times, with an acrobatic volley that dropped just wide almost delivering him a second goal. Before the hour mark, a cheeky nutmeg allowed him to tee up Kane for an unerring finish from the prolific No.9.

Markus Feldhoff is no stranger to filling interim coaching posts, but he was handed a baptism of fire against Bayern after being placed in temporary charge of Bochum alongside Murat Ural.
