<p>The former Bayern and Liverpool midfielder said you have to give credit to Kane for his goalscoring feats, even if he "doesn’t take too much part in the game". He also said it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the England international may not win his first-ever trophy as Bayer Leverkusen could still pip Bayern to the Bundesliga title. The ex-Germany international, who has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/dietmar-hamann-targets-harry-kane-again-bayern-munich-england-star-brutal-scores-penalties-jibe-ex-germany-international-bizarre-tirade/bltbf906da602960410" target="_blank">repeatedly criticised Kane</a> in the past, says the ex-Tottenham striker will need to be at his best if the Bavarians want to beat Inter Milan in the Champions League quarter-finals, too.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Hamann told <a href="https://www.pokerscout.com/didi-hamann-interview/" target="_blank">PokerScout</a>: "You have to give Harry Kane credit, he scores so many goals even if he sometimes doesn’t take too much part in the game. We are in the business end of the season and he scored twice against Leverkusen, he will need to do that again against Inter if he wants to progress in the Champions League. In the league they're going strong. They're six points clear and he gets the goals. Would somebody else do a better job? I do not know. Obviously he's cost a lot of money and been bought to score these goals. Now they are in the quarter-final and could potentially go further, whether he can do that the jury is still out for me. The bottom line is that he does score an awful lot of goals and he's probably the most important player for Bayern. When it comes to winning his first trophy, I'm not sure Leverkusen are capable of winning all their games which they probably need to do in order to win the Bundesliga. But Leverkusen have no European games and Bayern Munich have, Manuel Neuer is probably out for a few more weeks now with his calf problem. So who knows? I don't think it'll happen, but stranger things have happened in football."</p>

WHAT DIETMAR HAMANN SAID

<p>Since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/revealed-fee-bayern-munich-paid-harry-kane-100m-transfer-tottenham-england-striker/blt574fb10ccbd8169d" target="_blank">Kane swapped Tottenham for Bayern</a>, he has scored a remarkable 77 goals in 83 matches, bagging 24 assists along the way. But for some, including Hamann, the ex-Spurs ace needs to do more for the Bundesliga leaders, particularly in the biggest games. But his goals have put Bayern in a great position to win trophies this season.</p>

<p>Kane will hope to fire Bayern to victory again away at Augsburg on Friday in the Bundesliga, with Vincent Kompany's side currently holding a six-point lead over second-placed Leverkusen.</p>
