<p>The former Tottenham, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest striker was speaking to <a href="https://casinoapps.com/2025/04/08/interview-with-teddy-sheringham/" target="_blank"><em>casinoapps.com</em></a> about recent transfer speculation. Sheringham spoke for all Tottenham fans when he downplayed the idea of Bayern Munich star Kane joining Arsenal, calling the potential move a "nightmare scenario".</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Sheringham also suggested that while ex-Tottenham frontman Kane may fancy returning to England to chase Alan Shearer's Premier League goals record, the England captain will likely stay at Bayern for the foreseeable future, prioritising team rewards over individual achievements. Should Kane come back to the English top flight, Sheringham thinks Liverpool or Manchester City would provide the best opportunity for Kane to score the 48 goals he needs to eclipse Shearer's tally.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Sheringham said: "He might be coming to the latter stages of his career, but he's still a top footballer, he's still playing for England, he's still scoring goals for England, he's still scoring goals in the top leagues in world football, in the Champions League, so if that (signing for Arsenal) happened, that would really hurt. I mean that is something that can't happen. Even to think about it happening would hurt Tottenham, if an approach was made, and you have to hear about Harry mulling over that situation? Oof. It could never happen in a million years could it? That would be a nightmare scenario for every single Tottenham fan in the world."</p><p>On Kane potentially coming back to England to break Shearer's record, Sheringham added: "He must have that in his mind, that it would be nice to break that all-time Premier League scoring record, but it's not the be-all and end-all really, I don't think. I think there's more important things for him, winning things at Bayern Munich. Winning the Champions League and the Bundesliga. You'd much rather have those on your mantelpiece than the top goal scorer in the Premier League history, without doubt. He could do both. He could come back at 34, 35 and get the record if he went to the right club. I mean, if you're talking about going to Man City or Liverpool. What an acquisition that would be for those clubs."</p>

WHAT TEDDY SHERINGHAM SAID

<p>Is it finally time for Kane to lift his first piece of silverware? Bayern hold a six point lead over title rivals Leverkusen with just five games to go in the Bundesliga this season. The Bavarian giants have a huge task ahead of them in the Champions League, though, as they look to overturn a 2-1 deficit away at Inter in the second leg of their quarter-final tie. Success in one, or both, of these competitions could expedite Kane's return to England to hunt down that Premier League record.</p>
