<p>The German praised his team's performance and attitude and labelled their 3-0 win against Athletic Club in the last game of the season a "perfect farewell" to the campaign. Flick, who joined Barcelona last year, guided the Catalan giants to a domestic treble by winning La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana. However, they missed out on the Champions League after they lost 7-6 on aggregate to Inter in the semi-finals.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Flick's first season in charge saw Barcelona reclaim domestic dominance, as they finished ahead of Real Madrid in La Liga and beat them in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa finals. They will hope to go one better next season, though, by competing for the European crown and the German hopes the intensity they showed on Sunday can be replicated throughout the 2025-26 campaign.</p>
