The Portuguese's signing was reportedly pushed <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/kylian-mbappe-replacement-secured-psg-agree-eur80m-goncalo-ramos-deal-medical-benfica-striker/blt01d6b54246512151" target="_blank">through by football advisor Luis Campos</a>, who had actively pursued Ramos for nearly two years. Luis Enrique, according to the report, had little say in the acquisition, and doesn't view him as an ideal fit for his fluid front three.

Despite his reduced playing time, Luis Enrique <a href="https://www.ligue1.com/Articles/News/2023/10/29/luis-enrique-goncalo-ramos-does-a-spectacular-job" target="_blank">has backed Ramos to succeed</a>: "What you see from him is what we ask of him, we need him to provide support. The striker could be facing an early exit from Paris.
