Ronaldo's family were out in full support to watch the legendary forward take to the field once again at the European Championships. Portugal, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/portugal-player-ratings-vs-czech-republic-misfiring-cristiano-ronaldo-bailed-francisco-conceicao-euro-2024/blt8c4632bbdeb389e0" target="_blank">who were fortunate to earn the three points in their opening game against the Czech Republic</a>, raced into an early two goal lead against Turkey and set them on course to qualify to the knockout stages as group winners.

WHAT HAPPENED?

This could well be Ronaldo's last ever European Championships with the Portuguese captain turning 40 next year. Ronaldo helped his nation win the tournament in 2016 and will be dreaming of adding yet another trophy to his cabinet once again. Although, this may not be Ronaldo's last ever international tournament with the striker <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/cristiano-ronaldo-backed-for-last-dance-at-2026-world-cup-portugal-superstar-will-play-on-until-at-least-41/blt4b76b2ba8828f68a" target="_blank">aiming to play in the 2026 World Cup.</a>

Ronaldo is playing in his sixth European Championships and, in doing so, breaks the record for the most European Championship tournament appearances. He made his debut in the competition in 2004 but Portugal would lose to Greece in the final.

Ronaldo and his Portuguese side will qualify for the knockout stages with victory over Turkey. They play their final game of the group stage against Georgia on Wednesday in a chance to rotate their team before the round of 16.
