Van de Beek has joined the German club on loan until the end of the 2023-24 season. WHAT HAPPENED?

Eintracht sports director Markus Krosche expressed his delight after confirming Van de Beek's arrival on Monday morning, telling the club's <a href="https://profis.eintracht.de/news/donny-van-de-beek-verstaerkt-die-eintracht-155837" target="_blank">official website</a>: “Donny van de Beek fits our game idea perfectly and is an important piece of the puzzle for our team. He brings a wealth of international experience that our young players will benefit from. Donny exudes a goal-scoring threat and, above all, should put our attackers in promising positions.”

WHAT EINTRACHT FRANKFURT SAID

Van de Beek initially joined United from Ajax in September 2020 for £40m ($51m), after establishing himself as one of the top young midfielders in Europe. The Netherlands international has since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-meandering-misfits-marcus-rashford-anthony-martial-overstayed-welcome-old-trafford/blt6da0775c278c10c8" target="_blank">been unable to settle at Old Trafford</a>, though, with just two goals recorded across 62 appearances in all competitions, and he has yet to start a Premier League game for Erik ten Hag's side in 2023-24.

Van de Beek will hope that his move to Germany represents a proper fresh start, having failed to prove his worth during his last loan spell at Everton in 2022. The 26-year-old joins an Eintracht side sitting sixth in the Bundesliga table, nine points outside the top-four.
